A near perfect album. The only issue I might have is that it’s too short. The whole album is an extremely well-balanced composition. It’s absolutely excellent filmscoring, but at its roots it is an epic soundscape of emotion. Subtle, soft, and TRULY beautiful. Excellent combination of live strings and soft electronic ambient. Contains elements of dark ambient, what some may consider “unpretty”, but it’s a heart-wrenching album that scales the entire emotional spectrum, and to successfully convey this musically Martinez had to delve pretty deep into the sounds of emotion in the mind. This is in my top 5 favorite albums of all time.
